Hey there guys, girls and other creatures that may have come upon our page. Welcome to the online presence of the house of the sword and serpent. We are group of people that meet in London, England for spiritual practices.
We try to be a group for people to get together and explore the kherete system of spirituality with our own twist. We are trying to meet 3-5 times per month to explore our path get used to our senses and grow in our understanding and connection with ourselves, with physical reality and spiritual reality.
We recognise many different beliefs and traditions endorsing no particular form of magick or spirituality other than energy work, astral projection and dramatic ritual. These form a backbone for other traditions. They are the spiritual actions that mirror our physical rituals and we believe in cultivating this in all our members to seem them grow smoothly and speedily: transforming themselves and building up each other.
One of the few beliefs we have that you will not find in other groups is the idea that people are different and we need to accept that. As you walk through our London town you go from black to white to asian to someone from else where. You wonder past tall, short, fat and thin. We believe that spiritually this is true to. Not all subtle bodies (chakra systems) are the same. For this reason we practice to deeper explore ourselves and our own uniqueness to further our understanding of the self.
Many but not all of our members believe themselves to require dynamic life-force energy from people around them as a result of some of these differences. As a general rule we do not endorse taking this energy without consent and need. But we recognise that these people do exist and we have chosen to refer to them as energy vampires despite the term being ambiguous and having wild connotations. The term originates from its use by Dion Fortune in her 1930s work Psychic Self-defense and has been used ever since.
Our Values
We try to be a group that is founded on being grounded in the real world while still practicing regularly spiritual things. We value sanity, scepticism and self control above all. We also have high regard for spiritual progress, change and self-observation. We believe that as we practice we are awakening our selves to a deeper level of understanding of ourselves and the world around us.
We are primarily a left hand path group yet do not require the symbols of anarchistic gods to express this. In our tradition we are the gods.
We value equality between races, sexes and sexual orientations. We also try to value equality between people of different levels of experience when it comes to metaphysics. We also recognise the potential truth of any believe and recognise that there is a possibility no spiritual belief is true.
We believe that everyone and anyone should be allowed to "manifest his or her own religious or spiritual belief" (article 9 of European Convention on Human Rights). We encourage all our members to think for themselves and develop their own belief system and symbols for expression. However, we do encourage all members to take part in practical group work and to not fear spiritual progression.
We value the regular practices of energy work, astral projection and greek dramatic ritual for the purposes of learning about ourselves and the world around us and influencing change in accordance with the will. We seek to teach others to pursue their own truth.
